All in all it’s another good Touhou fighting game, but I still wish the spellcard system from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody/Hisoutensoku would make a return. The occult ball gimmick isn’t anything special, and is vaguely a copy of the Final Smash from the more recent Smash Bros games.

The controls feel better and the content doesn’t disappoint either (for a demo version). Especially during dialogue it’s no longer just a different face for an expression. Unlike the previous fighters this one has really unique looking character portraits. It’s not just changing faces anymore.Ī different artist for the character art was assigned, and I have to admit they chose well. This time there are no spell card setups like in Hopeless Masquerade. Profiles with controller settings can be defined as well. Like the previous fighters, this game has a story mode as well as the vs computer and vs player modes. The theme seems to be a bit spooky yet silly. Upon starting up, the main menu presents itself with fantastic music as you may expect from any Touhou game. Reimu & co thought that controlling these urban legends would keep people from harm. It is a fighting game that uses the same aerial battle mechanics from Touhou 13.5 ~ Hopeless Masquerade, but with new characters, plot and random nonsense. Fighting games are categorized by close combat between two fighters or groups of fighters of comparable strength, often broken into rounds. Touhou 14.5 Shinhiroku ~ Urban Legend in Limbo is the latest installment in the Touhou Project series. Immaterial and missing power, scarlet weather rhapsody and its expansion pack touhou hisoutensoku, hopeless masquerade, urban legend in limbo and antinomy of common flowers.
